I had a decent experience at Castaway Bay, mostly thanks to the fun waterpark, which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel's location near Cedar Point was a major plus, making it easy for us to head to the amusement park. However, I found some aspects of the hotel a bit dated and in need of improvement, especially regarding the cleanliness of certain areas. Overall, I wouldn't want to stay for more than a night or two, mainly because of the high cost and some discomforts during our stay.

Rooms

While the rooms were clean, they felt a bit outdated and could use a good deep clean. The mattresses weren't the best either.
Service

The staff were friendly and helpful, which made check-in and our overall stay smoother, though I wish issues with the room cleanliness were better addressed.

The hotel's proximity to Cedar Point is fantastic, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of some outdoor areas.

I tried the Quaker Steak restaurant, and the food was good, but the prices were pretty steep, especially for what we got.

The waterpark was fun for my kids, but it felt relatively small for the price we paid. The snack shack, while convenient, was also overpriced.

I had a really fun time at Castaway Bay with my family. The waterpark was definitely a highlight, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. However, there were a few drawbacks like the cleanliness of our room and the hassle with payments during check-in.

The room was a mixed bag. it had some leftovers from previous guests which was off-putting, and the balcony was quite dirty. I did appreciate the space though, especially the bunk beds for the kids.

The staff was friendly and willing to help. A special shout-out to Rasheed for returning my son's wallet while he was in Cleveland! That level of service really stood out.

The location was perfect for visiting Cedar Point. I loved that we had early access to the park. It really added to the convenience of our stay.
Dining

I found the on-site dining convenient, especially since we didn’t have to leave the hotel to eat. Although it wasn't the best food I've ever had, it was good enough for a quick meal.

The waterpark was a blast for the kids and well-maintained. I really appreciated that we had access to the waterpark before check-in and after check-out. That gave us extra time to enjoy it!

I had a mixed experience at Castaway Bay. The waterpark was fantastic and my daughter loved it, especially the raft slide. However, I encountered some cleanliness issues in our room, which was disappointing. Overall, I appreciated the friendly staff and the convenient location.

While the room I stayed in had great features like bunk beds for my child, I found it disappointing due to cleanliness issues, including leftover food and bugs on the balcony.

My stay at Castaway Bay was a mixed bag. The waterpark was fantastic and perfect for my kids, but the room left a lot to be desired. We enjoyed plenty of fun experiences as a family, but there were some cleanliness issues that made it less enjoyable overall.

The Starfish room was small but clean. Unfortunately, it had vinyl floors that felt grimy at times. There were no curtains for privacy when changing, and I would've appreciated an iron in the room.
Service

I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Check-in was fast and the maintenance man was especially helpful when we had trouble with our room keys, but I did have to ask multiple times for clean towels during our stay.

The indoor waterpark's location is convenient for visiting Cedar Point, which is a huge plus. However, I did notice some areas that felt unclean, including the boardwalk by the waterpark.

Dining options were decent, especially at Quaker Steak and Lube, where we enjoyed a great meal without needing to go outside. The breakfast selection at Starbucks was okay but a bit pricey for what you get.

The waterpark was the star of our visit! It had a great atmosphere and enough attractions for my children to enjoy without long waits. However, the changing area could use better privacy options.

I had a great time at Castaway Bay, especially with my family! The waterpark offers a fun mix of attractions catering to both younger and older kids, though I did find the evening water temperature a bit chilly. The check-in process was quite slow, which was disappointing. Overall, it’s a solid choice, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. 🌊😊

Rooms

The rooms were clean but a bit small for my family of five. We had bunk beds, which my kids loved, but the beds themselves weren't the most comfortable. Additionally, our room was next to the boiler room, leading to some noise at night.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made the experience pleasant. However, the check-in process was frustratingly slow, which negatively impacted our first evening.
Location

The hotel is conveniently located near Cedar Point, making it easy to access the amusement park. The proximity is one of the highlights of my stay, which allowed us to maximize our time at the park.
Dining

We had breakfast at the hotel, which was nice, though I found the waffles oddly hard and sweet. Dining at the Quaker Steak and Lube was convenient, but I felt it was a bit pricey for what we got.
Facilities

The waterpark itself is a highlight, especially the wave pool and hot tub. The limited hours of operation in the evening were frustrating, making it difficult to experience all the attractions fully.
